Michele Oka Doner at the Wolfsonian

Friday, November 17th Michele Oka Doner was joined by Wolfsonian founder, Micky Wolfson in an intimate dialogue on Michele’s Intuitive Alphabet.

In Intuitive Alphabet, Michele Oka Doner invites readers to a cosmic world filled with glyphic forms embedded in shells, sponges, and other natural forms she found, collected, and curated during her frequent walks on the beach.

“A language that you have made up from historic remnants and picked up through nature. These are objects that tell you a tale. It is a language expressed through imagery.” Micky Wolfson spoke of the title.

A force of nature herself, Michele Oka Doner’s deep appreciation for natural forms and materials parallels mankind’s predated search for communication and the desire to make sense of life. Nature is her truth and Intuitive Alphabet encapsulates the deep connection between human beings and the natural environment that surround us.
