Oppenheim Architecture Partners with Oceana Foundation

Tying back to our mission, Tra collaborates with non-profit entities to create partnerships between organizations and each artist in hopes of raising awareness on social and environmental issues.

Oppenheim Architecture, author of Spirit of Place, has partnered with Oceana where all proceeds of the book will go to protecting the oceans. Searching for an architecture that becomes one with its surroundings while amplifying the connection to place, the architect firm is committed to designing environmentally conscious architecture and connecting its inhabitants with nature.

“The planet is predominantly covered with water, and we thought that this would make the biggest impact in trying to make the world a better place, cleaning up the mess that we have created through industrialization. It’s even more important now today to really help recalibrate our thinking about the planet.” says Chad Oppenheim

Founded in 2001, Oceana is the largest international advocacy organization focused solely on ocean conservation. The foundation works internationally to direct policy-oriented and science-based campaigns that help save the oceans and feed the world. Oceana advocates for increasing marine biodiversity, restoring ocean abundance and protecting habitat by winning policy victories in countries that deliver nearly 25 percent of the world's wild marine fish catch.
